Quinta Review on the Platform paintings

An art magazine open on a wooden table, showing two columns of text beside a reproduction of two dark heads split by a strip of bare linen.

“The Distance Between”, Quinta Review, spring 2026.

A long piece on the new work, written after two studio visits in February.

The writer came twice, and asked mostly about measurement — why the gap in Half a Metre is exactly half a metre when nothing else in the painting is measured at all.

The piece runs to eight pages with four reproductions, including two works that had not been photographed before.

He paints the gap first and the people afterwards. Once you have seen that, the paintings are difficult to read any other way.
